Dispersibility and Stability with the Turbiscan DNS

TURBISCAN DNS from Microtrac is the first user-friendly platform for stability and dispersibility studies. Dispersibility studies can be executed, while processing the dispersion (at flow) and on the native samples (no added forces, no dilution) through Static Multiple Light Scattering (SMLS), as recommended by the ISO TS 21357.

The flow studies can be performed by either pumping the sample from the process or reactor (circulation function of the Turbiscan DNS: T-LOOP) or by mixing directly in the measurement cell (mixing function: T-MIX).

The stability measurement is performed at rest and the Turbiscan DNS provides a quick (up to 200 times quicker), quantitative and dependable stability measurement of destabilization kinetics in the absence of dilution or mechanical forces.

Highlights of TURBISCAN DNS

Online Particle Sizing

Direct particle size reduction kinetics are done while mixing or during the process through combined functions: T-MIX and T-LOOP. The Turbiscan DNS provides high-frequency measurement (up to 10/second) to accurately track the impact of the mixing parameters.

Fast and Quantified Shelf-Life

The SMLS has extreme sensitivity (ranging up to 200x times quicker compared to the naked eye). Aside from being quick, Turbiscan stability measurement also offers the destabilization mechanism and measures them with the one-click TSI or more in-depth parameters (aggregation speed, migration kinetic).

Measurement of Dispersibility and Stability

  • Quantified dispersion stability
  • Online Mean Particle Size
  • Shelf life and long term stability analysis
  • Mean diameter
  • Aggregation and agglomeration kinetics
  • Migration velocity
  • Volume fraction
  • Dispersibility ratio

2 in 1 Formulation Platform

The SMLS provides a huge application range concerning particle size (from 10 nm to mm) and concentration (from 10-4 to 95%v/v). Dispersibility and stability studies are also executed in the absence of dilution.

Key Benefits

TURBISCAN is the world reference technology for physical stability analysis. With the availability of seamless sample preparation, intuitive software, and highly reliable measurements, the Turbiscan DNS is currently opening a playground for dispersibility studies and setting a new reference.

The instrument measures Dispersibility and Stability, and all the tools and accessories provided and combine to save time and make the measurement ready to play: Sample - Close the cap - Click.

Turbiscan DNS has been developed to function with 20 mL disposable glass cells (comes with 4 mL cells for stability measurement).
