Sunseeker, famous throughout the yachting and boating world for the sheer beauty of its designs and the very high quality and performance built into each vessel at its extensive shipyards in Poole, has become the worldwide epitome of boating excellence - not least within the giant US market. And when Sunseeker commenced building its boats some 35 years ago, BigHead Bonding Fasteners – based just 5 miles from the main Sunseeker production facility – was also just starting to supply its unique stainless steel bonding fasteners to local industry, and became one of Sunseeker’s earliest suppliers.
Since then, each new Sunseeker model has incorporated an ever-growing variety of BigHead fasteners in its construction. Designed to be bonded-in during manufacture of plastic, GRP or composite structures, BigHeads provide a huge range of fastening and fixing solutions. In Sunseeker craft, they are used in hull and superstructure assemblies; internal trim and decorative panelling; in the galleys, engine rooms and exterior deck furnishings. Sunseeker pioneered the use of BigHeads in marine construction techniques, and the system is now used widely throughout the international marine industry. Sunseeker’s website, at www.sunseeker.com, features comprehensive details of the full range.
The complete BigHead system – made in either mild steel or 316 stainless - is now available either directly from BigHead or its authorised distributors. Full details and samples for applications in the marine, auto, transport, construction and plastics/composites are available on request, as is the well-established free prototyping service for companies new to its system.
