Ipsen, a designer and manufacturer of thermal processing systems for automotive, chemical, energy, medical, aerospace and other markets, had acquired the heat treating division of SEAVAC USA in 2009 to better serve customers in Japan and worldwide.
Through this acquisition, the company has expanded its product offerings with the integration of SEAVAC’s mesh belt furnace lines. Ipsen continues to deliver mesh belt furnace globally. Topura America Fastener, a Japanese manufacturer of fasteners for automotive, appliance, construction and other sectors, has recently purchased a mesh belt furnace from Ipsen to install in its new manufacturing plant located in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Topura has already installed a mesh belt furnace at its facility in Tokai, Japan.
The mesh belt furnace line is used to temper, anneal and harden a wide variety of components, including springs, camshafts, forgings, castings and fasteners. The components are processed by placing them directly on the mesh belt line that moves through the furnace. This prevents the need for fixtures or trays. The mesh belt furnace lines have replaced shaker hearth and cast link furnaces employed by the fastener heat treating sector, which has been using these lines for several years.
