Beijing Essen Welding Fair 2014: Air Products Debuts Gastrak Economisers

Air Products, a leading global industrial gases supplier and integrated gases application solutions provider, introduces its innovative Gastrak™ economisers in China at the Beijing Essen Welding and Cutting Fair 2014 held from June 10 to June 13 at the China International Exhibition Center, Beijing.

Designed to eliminate excessive shielding gas flows at the beginning of each weld known as “pre-weld surge” and optimize the flow rate for each application, Air Products’ Gastrak economizers can reduce the gas consumption by 25% or more with better weld quality. It has been successfully launched in Europe and North America with proven results of quality improvement and cost savings.

“China is one of the world’s largest and fastest growing welding and cutting markets. As costs increase, manufacturers are looking for ways to improve their competitiveness.” said Craig Hunt, global director, Welding and Fabrication at Air Products. “We are happy to introduce Gastrak economisers in China to bring the best gas control technology to welding customers in the country.”

As the official gases supplier for the Beijing Essen Welding and Cutting Fair for the fifth consecutive year, Air Products will supply about 400 cylinders of specially formulated Linx® shielding gases and conventional weld process gases to the key welding and cutting OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) for their live demonstrations at the show.

“Air Products is honored to have been selected by the organizer as the official gases supplier for this leading global trade fair for five consecutive years.” said Hunt. “Exhibitors and visitors have been deeply impressed by the superior welding performance and cost benefits of our carefully balanced Linx gas mixtures and conventional weld process gases.” For over 25 years, Air Products is committed to supporting the growth of China’s metal fabrication industries by developing innovative gas solutions.

At the fair, Air Products will also showcase its flexible gas supply modes including cylinders, CryoEase® Microbulk Solutions, liquid bulk trucks and on-site gas generation systems to meet different volume demands required by China’s manufacturing industry. Air Products’ fabrication industry experts around the globe will be on-hand to provide live robotic welding demonstrations. Visitors can witness on site how Air Products’ Linx gases and Gastrak economisers can work seamlessly together to achieve optimal welding performance to bring customers more competitive advantages.
