US$2.85 Million Raised for Fuel Cell Technology

Micro-structured fuel cell developer Angstrom Power have raised US$2.85 million in first round financing. Amongst the contributors are Chrysalis Energy LP, Ventures West, OPG Ventures, Growthworks Capital and Micro-Generation Technology Fund.

Angstrom’s is looking to apply its patented technology to the fabrication of novel fuel cells. Fuel cells manufactured using their technology are claimed to have more favourable operating characteristics, higher power densities and are simple to and inexpensive to build. The first raft of applications they will look at include batteries and portable power.
