Tell us about the company and why you are attending MACH 2018?
MACH is the biggest machinery show in the U.K every two years. We have to be part of that. ROMI is a Brazilian machine tool manufacturer. We been producing machines for just under 90 years now. We have around 200,000 machines running around the world at this minute. And we produce around two to three thousand machines a year in our facility. Everything is done in-house, from the casting right through to the sheet metal work, the painting, all the geometries. It’s a finished product in-house, we don't subcontract any of the process.
We have a product portfolio of about 140 different machines. We do flat bed turning, slant bed turning, mill turns, VMCs, five axis, vertical turning, as well as process injection on the machines as well. So we're one of the big players in the world.
What products are you highlighting at MACH 2018?
The range that we sell within the U.K. markets. So we've got a C420 which is for one offs, prototypes, or small battrums. Then we've got the GL280M, which is a live mill turn center for high volume production work. Over there we've got a D1250, which is a 1270 X-Axis travel vertical machining center with 30 tools, that's available with the seam as well as the finite control system. The prize asset over there is the five axis, the DCM625x, which is a simultaneous five axis machine, producing the world cup trophy.
Which industries do these machines mainly serve?
We cover all industries, oil and gas, automotive, medical, general subcontracts and auto-support. They can be used in any industry. Our customers are very diverse, we've got customers on our books from one man in a shed to multinational companies.
