In this interview, Hewitt-Robins talks to AZoM about their products and why they are exhibiting this year at Contamination Expo.
Please tell us about the company and why you are here today?
There was a man in America who wanted conveyors, but they didn't have any. He invented the rubber conveyor, and went into business with Thomas Edison, the inventor. That's when Hewitt-Robins was formed in the 1880's. We produce vibrating equipment. We are owned by the Tata Group, but we're UK based and manufacture in the UK. We make all types of screens and vibrating equipment for quarries and mines.
What industries will benefit from your products?
With our product the flip flow screen we're looking to get into recycling. We already have the equipment, but we're trying to increase our presence in this industry. The new flip flow screen is designed for sticky materials. It has flexible mats that flick up, so the material going across it doesn't get clogged in the mats. It's constantly in motion.
What sets your product apart from others on the on the market?
Hewitt-Robins has been around for about 100 years, so we have lots of knowledge and real expertise in manufacturing. We can make screens to fit any existing footprint, in a recycling yard, a quarry or a mine. We're really proud of our quality and our product.
