In this interview AZoM speaks to FANUC UK at Advanced Engineering 2018 about their new software for teaching students how to program and operation industrial robots.
Tell us about your company and why you are attending the show?
Passionate about automation, FANUC prides itself on manufacturing efficiencies. Automated solutions drive productivity, enhance quality and minimise costs. Advanced Engineering is an excellent opportunity to showcase some of the solutions we have to offer OEMs and supply chain professionals.
Are there any products you are showcasing today?
Given the exciting future facing the industry, we think education is extremely important. We’ve created the FANUC Educational Package, which we will be sharing with everyone at Advanced Engineering. Designed with students in mind, it enables young people to gain first-hand experience of programming and operating cutting-edge industrial robots. Package content is highly relevant for modern factory applications and contains everything instructors require for teaching purposes.
Which industries do you work with/serve?
Automation is high on our agenda and at the heart of our systems, whether it’s industrial robots, CNC systems, wire cut EDM, injection moulding machines or vertical machining centres. FANUC’s smart factory automation solutions are dedicated to every phase of a production process and can be applied to all industries with the right applications.
Is there anything that makes your product/company unique in the marketplace?
FANUC specialises in factory automation, which is split across three categories: robotics, factory automation systems, and production machinery. Our extensive product portfolio comprises market-leading vertical milling centres (ROBODRILL), plastic injection moulding machines (ROBOSHOT), wire EDMs (ROBOCUT), industrial robots and CNC systems. Our 2017 purpose-built facility extends our capability to build turn-key systems in our workshop ready for our customers, while we also provide extensive training to engineers who will use FANUC machines and systems on their manufacturing facilities.
