The Advanced Materials Show 2020 Programme

The Advanced Materials Show, Europe’s leading event for the advanced materials industry, has revealed its conference programme for 2020 which features exclusive insight and leading international speakers.

The free to attend two-track conference, which takes place between the 8th - 9th July 2020 at the NAEC Stoneleigh, Warwickshire (UK), will unite a highly focused audience, all engaged in the research, production, integration or purchasing of advanced materials technology.

The conference has drawn in top experts from international brands to share exclusive insight and knowledge. Returning to the show will be the Ceramics UK conference and exhibition, which highlights the most recent advances in glass and ceramics.

On the first day, the conference will kick off with a keynote session, devoted to the important issue of the commercial opportunities that the sector faces. Track one will examine the regulatory and customer demand for advanced material innovation.

Sean Appleton, General Manager at 3M and Steven Harris, Head of External Partnerships & Programmes at BAE Systems, have teamed up to produce a dynamic session that will examine what the market and development landscape looks like for advanced materials producers.

On the second day, the keynote session focuses on the quickly growing nanomaterials market, which is expected to be worth $55 billion by 2022. Featuring five expert speakers, they will bring this exciting session to life by using case study examples in micro and nanomaterials.

Moderated by Dr. Claire Skentelberry, Director General at the Nanotechnology Industries Association, four speakers from Promethean Particles, University of Liverpool, Cerion, and OCSiAL will be exploring, in detail, those nanomaterials that have managed to navigate the ‘valley of death’ from design to production. They discuss the how and why behind their success where so many have faltered and what business and technical approaches were put into place.

The release of this year’s conference programme is an exciting development as interest in the show grows week-on-week. We were astounded by the attendance and success of The Advanced Materials Show 2019 in its first year, and the calibre of speakers we have been able to attract as a result for 2020 really does cement the show’s reputation as the leading event for the latest insight and knowledge in the industry.

It is a privilege to welcome the industry’s top thought-leaders from global brands such as 3M, BAE Systems and Cerion, and we are looking forward to the debate, knowledge-exchange and networking that is set to happen at the show this July.

Alex Oliver, Event Director of The Advanced Materials Show

This year, the Advanced Materials Show is even more important to the material advancement industry as it will be located together with the highly anticipated Vehicle Electrification Expo and Battery Cells & Systems Expo and will provide unparalleled insights into present and future materials development, with experts from all industry areas in attendance.
