BASF’s Uvinul 3030 Received FDA Approval - News Item

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have just approved BASF’s UV absorber Uvinul® 3030 for use in food contact applications. This follows on from the granting of similar approvals by the European Union (EU).

Uvinul® 3030 is used with polymers such as polycarbonate, polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and polyethersulfone which are processed at high temperatures. These materials may be used in applications such as packaging, storage vessels and kitchenware, where they may come into contact with food.

Uvinul® 3030 has an unusually high thermal stability and low volatility as well as UV absorption properties and is suited to high transparency applications such as atrium panes.
