SilcoTek works with many customers who utilize various applications within the industrial process market.
SENSOR Sampling Systems delivers robust solutions for customers within the chemical processing industry that require safe sample collection of process media for both the environment and the operator while also managing yield and quality.
SENSOR acknowledges that its customers require unique solutions, so it designs each sampling system for the specific chemical being collected.
The ultimate step in some of its custom-engineered solutions is addressing the chemical interaction challenges occurring with the internal surfaces of the system.
A SilcoTek Case Study
SENSOR Sampling Systems attained the design, manufacture, and assembly of complete parts for its customer’s system. It recognized that engaging with experts was the final stop in overcoming surface challenges.
When SENSOR learns that its customers seek an inert surface and have specified SilcoTek coatings, the company can easily accommodate the request. Numerous parts in a sampling system may require treatment with SilcoTek’s patented CVD coating.
Following the complete disassembly of the system, the SENSOR’s experts can send standard and custom components to SilcoTek for coating, receive the coated parts back, and then reassemble the finished sampling system for its customer.
This enthusiasm for going the extra mile for its customers makes SENSOR Sampling Systems an excellent partner for SilcoTek.
Ordering coated hardware from competing companies may require months because of their prolonged lead times. SENSOR recognizes that its customers need its sampling systems to operate immediately.
Game-Changing Benefits
SENSOR Sampling Systems has delivered custom solutions for various applications with surface challenges, including the following examples.
Figure 1. Image Credit: SilcoTek
Figure 1 displays a sampling probe where the customer was concerned about the inaccurate sulfide measurement in the collected samples. The skewed measurements arose from the cross-contamination of sulfide leaching into the metallic sample cylinder and system components.
The probe was coated with SilcoNert 2000 to give an inert and corrosion-resistant barrier to avoid metal ion leaching or contamination of the sulfide readings.

Figure 2 depicts the finished sampling system for a customer who contacted SENSOR with concerns regarding corrosion because of chlorides in their system.
The customer had been using 316 SS and was seeking an effective and economical solution to prevent corrosion and contamination. This could have led to the customer needing to replace the affected part.
SilcoTek and SENSOR collaborated to supply a SilcoNert 2000-coated component that addressed the contamination and utilized 316 SS for the construction material. The capability of SilcoNert to protect against harsh chloride corrosion allowed an easy and cost-effective solution for the problem.
