Could you please introduce yourself and tell us about your background working in the lubricant industry?
My name is Ramakrishnan Perumal, and I am employed as a Quality Control Manager at GP Global MAG LLC., Dubai. Having completed my Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, I have been working in the Lubricant industry for 21 years, having experience in quality assessment of fresh and in-service lubricating oil, greases and base oils. I am skilled in developing formulations for Lubricating oils and implementing ISO 17025 competency requirements for a testing laboratory.

Looking back over the company’s recent growth and successes since its foundation in 2013, how are MAG Lubricants placed to grow further in the oil and lubricants market?
We started our mission in MAG LUBRICANTS by establishing our factory back in 2013 with full commitment to customer services and product quality - offering full range of lubricants and customizable solutions to the market’s needs.
In recent years, the world of engines and cars has witnessed a great development in the engine industry. As it was necessary for the Oil industry to keep pace with such developments to provide the appropriate oils for new engines. For this reason, we established our MAG Lubricant factory in Dubai, United Arab Emirates with the latest European technologies to be ready to provide the appropriate types of Oil for new engines.
At MAG, we don’t just make oils - we keep pace with development.

Total Base and acid number are the important properties of a lubricant that are regulated by Government bodies and OEMs. Metrohm titrator is very helpful to measure this property at the time of raw material receiving stage and during product realization stage.

Manual titration for lubricant samples is a cumbersome method especially for colored and service lubricating oils. An automatic potentiometric titration is proven to be the best testing method for these types of samples. Metrohm, a pioneer in making auto-titrators, gives us accurate and reliable test results in a short span of testing time. In addition to that, Metrohm is found to be user friendly and easily adaptable by even a fresh lab analyst.

What measures do you have in place to ensure the quality of your products at all stages of production?
MAG quality control procedures play important roles right from raw materials receipt to product dispatch stage. Stringent specifications and elaborate tests are incorporated in raw material evaluation receipt stages and product blending stages.
The high standards of quality maintained at our blending plant have earned us certifications for ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018.
How does the future look for MAG in terms of growth with Metrohm, and how is the support provided by Metrohm aiding MAG in achieving its goals?
MAG expects Metrohm to provide quick support in terms of MAG's new enquiry as well as for the maintenance contract.
