Rapid curing, one component, no mix Master Bond LED401 offers high optical clarity and excellent physical strength properties. It cures fully upon exposure to Active 405 nm wavelength light source. It can cure in sections up to 1/8 inch thick. Environmentally friendly LED401 contains no solvents or volatiles. It cures tack-free without any oxygen inhibition.
Advantages of LED401 Adhesive
- Ideal for bonding thermally sensitive parts- limited heat/IR emitted
- Adhesion to a wide variety of substrates – including tinted and UV blocked materials
- High bond strength to glass, metals, elastomers and many plastics including polycarbonates and acrylics
- Full cures can be achieved in 15-30 seconds in thin sections
- Lower processing costs
Master Bond LED401 has a viscosity of 100,000-150,000 cps – a high viscosity but flowable. It has superior dimensional stability and superb electrical insulation properties. Resistance to moisture and many chemicals is outstanding. It has a Shore D hardness >65-70 and a glass transition temperature of 70-75°C.
LED light sources are considered less hazardous and more user-friendly than their UV counterparts. Speed of cure is dependent upon the intensity of the light source, the thickness of the layer and the distance of the light from the material being cured. LED401 is available for use in convenient syringe applicators and in 1/2 pint, pint, quart, gallon and 5 gallon units. Its shelf life in original unopened containers is 6 months. Additional LED curable systems available for use include LED401LV (low viscosity LED curable compound) and LED403Med (medical grade, USP Class VI approved; also passes ISO 10993-5 cytotoxicity test).
