Fabrication and Heat treatment
Annealing
UNS 11500 copper alloys are annealed between 482 and 760°C (900 and 1400°F).
Cold Working
UNS 11500 copper alloys can be cold worked in an excellent manner.
Hot Working
UNS 11500 copper alloys can be hot formed in an excellent manner.
Welding
Welding methods such oxyacetylene welding, coated metal arc welding, seam welding and spot welding are not recommended for UNS 11500 copper alloys. Butt welding, Soldering, brazing and gas shielded arc welding can be performed on these alloys.
Forging
Temperatures between 760 and 871°C (1400 and 1600°F) are used for forging the UNS 11500 copper alloys whose hot forgeability rating is 65%.
Machinability
The machinability rating of UNS 11500 copper alloys is 20%.
Applications
UNS 11500 copper alloys are used for commutator segments and electrical components.
