Introduction
Pure copper has high thermal and electrical conductivity. The UNS C14500 phosphorus deoxidized tellurium-bearing copper alloy has 90 to 96% IACS conductivity and free machining properties.

Fabrication and Heat Treatment
Machinability
The machinability rate of UNS C14500 copper alloy is 85.
Welding
Brazing, soldering, butt welding, oxyacetylene welding, and gas shielded arc welding methods are recommended for welding UNS C14500 copper alloy. Coated metal arc welding, seam welding, and spot welding methods should not be used for welding this alloy.
Forging
Forging of the UNS C14500 copper alloy can be done at 760 to 871°C (1400 to 1600°F). Forgeability of this alloy is 65.
Hot Working
The UNS C14500 copper alloy has good hot working properties.
Cold Working
The UNS C14500 copper alloy has good cold working capacity.
Annealing
Annealing of the UNS C14500 copper alloy can be performed at temperatures ranging from 427 to 849°C (800 to 1200°F).
Applications
The UNS C14500 copper alloy is used in applications that require high machinability and conductivity. It is also used in welding and cutting torch tips.
