KBM Affilips manufactures a range of copper-based master alloys for the brass and copper industry. The suite of alloys offered by KBM Affilips includes Copper-Zirconium, Copper-Boron, Copper-Manganese, and Copper-Iron.
A common feature of the aforementioned alloys is that these alloys dissolve better when compared to the corresponding pure metals. Copper Arsenic (CuAs) master alloy is one such product supplied by KBM Affilips.
CuAs Master Alloy
The following table lists different CuAS master alloys provided by KBM Affilips:
Alloy |
Composition |
CuAs 20 |
20% As and balance Cu |
CuAs 30 |
30% As and balance Cu |
Both master alloys are supplied in the form of broken waffle ingots. They have found use in the ferrous and non-ferrous industry. The general corrosion resistance of aluminum bronzes can be improved through the addition of arsenic in low concentrations.
Dezincification can be inhibited under certain corrosive conditions when arsenic is added in low concentrations to brasses. KBM Affilips produces CuAs master alloys at its specialized plant in an environmentally sound manner.
Applications
- Improving corrosion resistance of CuAl alloys
- Dezincification inhibitor in brass
- Improving mechanical properties of low alloyed copper alloys
