Introduction
The three types molybdenum-tungsten alloys are MW20, MW30 and MW50, based on tungsten content. Some of the characteristics of this alloy are good performance at high temperatures, good corrosion resistance and improved etching. MW50 alloy consists of molybdenum and tungsten in equal proportions.
This datasheet will look into the chemical composition, properties and applications of Plansee MW50 molybdenum-tungsten alloy.
Chemical Composition
The chemical composition of MW50 alloy is given in the following table.
Element |
Content (%) |
Molybdenum, Mo |
50 |
Tungsten, W |
50 |
Applications
MW50 alloy is used in the following applications:
-
Manufacture of zinc
-
Making of stirring tools for glass industry
-
Manufacture of thin film transistors
-
Sputtering targets for coating flat screens
-
Handling of molten metal.
