Introduction
Molybdenum-tungsten alloys are divided into three types based on their tungsten content: MW20, MW30 and MW50. These alloys are characterized by good performance at high temperatures, improved corrosion resistance and enhanced etchability. MW30 consists of 70% molybdenum and 30% tungsten.
This datasheet will look into the chemical composition, properties and applications of Plansee MW30 molybdenum-tungsten alloy.
Chemical Composition
The chemical composition of MW30 alloy is given in the following table.
Element |
Content (%) |
Molybdenum, Mo |
70 |
Tungsten, W |
30 |
Applications
MW30 alloy is used in the following applications:
-
Manufacture of zinc
-
Making of stirring tools for glass industry
-
Manufacture of thin film transistors
-
Sputtering targets for coating flat screens
