The Lince6M5 from Teledyne e2v is a single chip, fully digital, high speed CMOS active pixel sensor built to for maximum flexibility. It has superior performance in a wide range of applications, from low noise, high dynamic range surveillance, to high speed, slow motion analysis; including high resolution machine vision applications.
A Versatile Sensor That Can Operate in a Large Range of Applications
Lince6M5 incorporates a rapid 6.5 MP CMOS active pixel image sensor that utilizes active CMOS pixels with pinned photodiodes to deliver superior image quality whilst maintaining the size, cost, and integration advantages of CMOS process. Main sensor features include a global electronic shutter and High Dynamic Range (HDR).
The pixel response can be configured for either linear light response with 58 dB dynamic range for a global electronic shutter or 62 dB dynamic range for a rolling electronic shutter. It can also operate with high dynamic range piecewise linear response, with more than 100 dB dynamic range.
The whole system runs with an external clock of 9.6 MHz and all required timing and reference voltages are internally generated, thus minimizing the need for external components. It includes a power down capability for very low power dissipation.
The sensor is easily programmable as features and CIS functions are altered through a simple four wire standard Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI). The device includes 24 LVDS high speed outputs allowing image data to be transferred at up to 14 Gbit/sec, and two additional LVDS ports for clock recovery and image synchronization.
Overall, the Lince6M5 is an extremely versatile sensor that can operate in a large range of applications.
