Thermalbond® has been the industry standard for over three decades and is the most recognized brand of structural glazing spacer in the world.
Thermalbond glazing spacers are engineered for use in structural silicone glazing systems where direct contact with the silicone adhesive is quite common. Thermalbond structural glazing spacers provisionally fasten the glass to the frame, facilitating the movement of units through the shop. The vapor permeable cell structure enables quick curing of the silicone adhesive.
Overview
Thermalbond V2100 and V2200 spacer tapes are provided in a variety of configurations and thicknesses with gray or black color, using high-strength acrylic adhesive on one or both sides of the foam. The two-sided adhesive configuration provides secure temporary bonding, insuring firmness of the glazing components during the silicone curing cycle.
The V2100 and V2200 spacer tapes are also available in a light grey color for silicone matching in new façade designs. Thermalbond Xpress includes adhesive on just one side and is self-wound. Its matte black surface offers a smooth surface for visual aesthetics and glass positioning.
Thermalbond has a third-party verified life cycle assessment (LCA), which is an industry first. Helping to decrease heat transfer in window systems and curtain wall, Thermalbond is an essential component of structural glazing. The LCA, facilitated by Sustainable Solution Corporation, computes the environmental impact of the products and gives transparency to customers, which is more and more important as LEED requirements advance to enhance building sustainability.
