Grinder pumps are typically used for processing solids to make them sufficiently smaller to pass via the pump and discharge line without plugging.
A majority of grinder pumps are effective in reducing the size of the solids as they pass within the pump, thereby allowing stringy solids to stay in the wet end when the unit is switched off. However, the HOMA grinder system utilizes a different method which eliminates this internal material buildup.
In the HOMA series of grinder pumps, solids are processed with the help of a dual-action cutter that works outside of the pump, under the impeller. The exclusive hardened cutter system is made of stainless steel alloyed with molybdenum, vanadium, and cobalt.
Both rotational and stationary cutters are hardened to at least 55 Rockwell C and offer 13,800 cuts every minute.
