Electrochemical Properties of Solid Oxide Fuel Cell with Sm-Doped Ceria Electrolyte and Sr-doped Samarium Cobaltite Cathode

In this study, Strontium doped Samarium Cobaltite and RuO2-doped SSC were characterized as a cathode of a solid oxide fuel cell with Sm-doped ceria (SDC) electrolyte. Ni-SDC anode was also prepared to evaluate the cell.

Characteristics of Al,F Co-Doped ZnO Thin Films Grown by rf Magnetron Sputtering with a Mesh Grid Electrode

In this study, in order to decrease film resistivity, co-doping of fluorine (F) to ZnO:Al film was attempted using rf magnetron sputtering apparatus with the mesh grid electrode. The contamination of heavy metal atoms from the mesh grid was also investigated.

Grain Boundary Defect Formation During the Dissolution of Hydroxyapatite

In this article hydroxyapatite ceramics containing glass powders were prepared to prevent dissolution at grain boundaries that become large cracks. Glass phase incorporated into hydroxyapatite acts as a sintering aid followed by crystallization in order to improve the mechanical properties

In this article an electrochemical treatment process is used to effectively form hydroxyapatite, HAP, in simulated body fluid on the surface of TNTZ for biocompatible prosthetic applications.

Preparation and Heat Treatment Effects of TiO2 Nanotubes Used in Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells

The dye-sensitized solar cells (DSC) have become increasingly well known due to their low cost in recent years. In the present study, TiO2 nanotubes (TNTs) with high surface area were prepared, which can be used in the anodic electrode of the dye-sensitized solar cell.

Microwave Drying of ZnO Slip Cast Bodies Compared with Drying by Conventional Heating Techniques

This article investigates the effects of rapid drying of ZnO slip cast bodies by microwave heating and compares the results with those dried by conventional heating techniques. The extent of warpage of a dried body is smaller in microwave drying than in other conventional drying methods.

Surface Modification of Polymers by Thermal Ozone Treatments

This article examines the surface modification of polyethylene (PE), poly(vinylchloride) (PVC), and polystyrene (PS), by thermal ozone (O3) treatment to improve their properties. Comparisons show that different processes of surface modification occured improving surface wettability.
