Tribological Properties of Hot Pressed Alumina-Silicon Carbide Nanocomposite

Hot pressed alumina 5vol% silicon carbide nanocomposite were fabricated. Sintering temperature influences grain size and wear mechanisms. Triboloigcal behaviour was compared to monolithic alumina and both materials exhibited different wear mechanisms which are described.

Synthesis of Electro Conductive Nanosized ZnO Powders

Electro conductive nanosized ZnO powder were synthesized from zinc sulfate salt and aluminum sulfate salts. The crystallization process, morphologies, and thermal decomposition were studied as a function of calcination temperatures and raw material compositions.

Synthesis, Characterization and Catalytic Activity of CoAl2O4 and NiAl2O4 Spinel - Type Oxides for NOx Selective Reduction

CoAl2O4 and NiAl2O4 spinels were prepared by sol-gel method with citric acid. The formation of CoAl and NiAl spinels was investigated, changing the calcination temperatures and the molar ratio of citric acid to the metals. The catalysts have been tested for the selective reduction of NOx.

Reduction of Ceramic Machining Defects by Regulated Force Feeding Grinding System

Excessive grinding forces acting on grinding surfaces cause defects during grinding of fragile materials. A new grinding system (regulated force feeding, RFF) has been developed in order to minimize the excessive forces. The new system regulates feeding force instead of feeding speed.
