New Energy Technologies, Inc. is all set to launch its glass solar window enabled with its see-thru SolarWindow technology. The company has announced that the researchers working on this particular technology have achieved significant technical as well as scientific breakthroughs, thus allowing New Energy Technologies to introduce a working model of the first glass wind window in the world that can produce electricity.

So far, solar panels have always remained opaque since the possibility of a see-thru glass window has been limited by factors such as the usage of metals as well as a variety of expensive processes that prevent the passing through of light and block visibility as well. The company's ability in generating electrical energy on see-thru glass has been made possible by the usage of the world's tiniest organic solar cells, which has been developed at the South Florida University by researcher Xiaomei Jiang.

The SolarWindow technology of New Energy Technologies can find possible application in over 80 million homes and 5 million commercial buildings located in the U.S.
