Institution of Chemical Engineers and Elsevier Enter Publishing Agreement

The Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) and Elsevier have announced a new partnership to publish the four international journals Chemical Engineering Research and Design, Process Safety and Environmental Protection, Food and Bioproducts Processing and Education for Chemical Engineers, IChemE’s new online journal, from January 2008.

The journals are the official titles of the European Federation of Chemical Engineering (EFCE) and cover the latest research not only in chemical engineering, but a wider spectrum of related disciplines including bio- and environmental sciences, bringing new perspectives to established principles that are of relevance to both academia and industry. Regular special issues focused on specific topics are published, in addition to selected papers from major conferences. Elsevier will distribute the journals both in print and online via the leading journal platform ScienceDirect, enabling early publication of articles in press.

Caroline Smith, IChemE Director Publishing & Resources, commented “Working with Elsevier will allow our research journals to be more accessible than ever before. This is good news for our authors, editors and the academic community, as well as the Institution. Editorial control will remain with IChemE and we will continue to provide the best quality journals to both our members and academic institutions around the world.”

“Elsevier is very pleased to partner with such a prestigious institution,” added Martin Tanke, Managing Director S&T Journals. “The IChemE journals are a perfect fit to our existing chemical engineering portfolio allowing us to deliver high-quality content to the research community and to further extend our innovative society publishing program”.
