Disposable Stainless Steel Laryngoscopes Blades from Cenmed

Responding to customer demand, Cenmed Enterprises is now offering a line of Disposable Stainless Steel Laryngoscopes Blades for a variety of types of blades and sizes. Cenmed's offering of disposable stainless steel laryngoscope blades is the most extensive in the industry.

"With only a few manufacturers of disposable laryngoscope blades, Cenmed continues to lead the way in offering new and innovative products," said Rizwan Chaudhry, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Cenmed Enterprises. "No other company has an extended line of blades ranging from size 00 all the way up to size 4 in both conventional and fiber optic. Cenmed's Surgikal(TM) brand of blades are designed to assist in oral intubations and are available in pediatric sizes including sizes 00, 0, and 1."

Evidence suggests that laryngoscope cleaning and disinfection procedures are not 100% effective against bacteria, viruses and prion originating in the mouth. The only way to effectively eliminate cross contamination between patients is to use a single use laryngoscope blade. In the past, several companies have offered plastic laryngoscope blades which offered the same functionality as metal blades, but came far short in terms of feel and strength of metal blades. The Surgikal(TM) brand of blades have combined the strength of stainless steel and are functionally of the reusable blades. Cenmed offers a variety of types and sizes in both Fiber Optic and Conventional styles. The Surgikal(TM) brand of blades work with most brands of handles, and can alternately be used with the Surgikal(TM) brand of laryngoscope handles.

Overall, anesthetists and anesthesiologists are beginning to recognize the risks surrounding reusing laryngoscope blades. Cenmed is offering a complete line of comparable patient conscious products, which hope to reduce the incidences of cross contamination.
