Five leading companies in the photonics industry have been integrated under the “Gooch and Housego” brand name. Although they were all previously owned by Gooch & Housego Plc, they had operated under separate names.
This integration involves Gooch & Housego UK, the world’s leading manufacturer of acousto-optic Q-switches; Cleveland Crystals, an expert in the growth and application of non-linear crystals and in the fabrication of large aperture KDP and KDP optics; NEWS Technologies, a manufacturer of complementary acousto-optic technologies; Landwehr Electronic, a designer and manufacturer of high-frequency microelectronics for laser control systems; and SIFAM Fibre Optics, a specialist in the design, manufacture and supply of fibre optic solutions.
As well as enabling Gooch & Housego to leverage the combined skills from across the organisation to develop new products, the global integration allows the company to meet the market demand for reduced supplier numbers and simplified supply chains.
A significant role of the supply chain is also played by AMS Technologies. Having been official distributor of SIFAM Fibre Optics for several years, the Pan-European distributor and Gooch & Housego have recently signed a distribution agreement. The agreement entitles AMS Technologies to sell Gooch & Housego's whole product range in Germany, France, The Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Spain, Portugal and Switzerland.
Due to its comprehensive market knowledge and presence throughout Europe AMS Technologies represents the perfect partner in serving customers in Gooch & Housego's target markets including industrial laser, biomedical, defence and metrology. Gooch & Housego's complementary technologies also complete AMS’ wide product offering of high-quality, precision, standard and customised optical components and sub-systems.
