Materials Science International GmbH (MSI) are pleased to announce the launch of their ‘Buy Online’ facility for the MSIT Phase Diagrams Center (www.matport.com).
Aimed at researchers & engineers working on inorganic materials within industry, academia or government labs, this new facility enables individuals to purchase 6 month licenses to customer defined sub-sets of the MSIT Phase Diagrams Center databases. Overall the databases provide information on over 30,000 materials systems via interactive phase diagrams, reports, tables and other supporting information. Customer selection can be defined by materials systems (e.g. Gold Au + any other elements) and information types. Key to the information types offered are the MSIT Evaluation Reports & Links to Literature.
MSIT Evaluation Reports: represent the best available knowledge, including phase diagrams, based on critical evaluations of all relevant literature since 1900 until the publication date of the individual report.
Links to Literature: comprehensive reference lists citing all the publications from the world’s literature where relevant information on a materials system is reported (currently over 220,000 citations for over 30,000 materials systems, including unary, binary, ternary and higher order component systems)
Developed to provide the information customers need at the time they need it, individual customers can now:
- select from over 30,000 materials systems using element combinations from the periodic table
- select the desired information types
- purchase by credit card
- download the interface software
- receive license & activate access
- receive any updates to the licensed area throughout the license period
Dr Effenberg, Managing Director of MSI stated: ‘From market feedback, we recognised that there was demand from individuals at non-subscribing institutions to have access to sub-sets of the phase diagrams and related information we offer. With the launch of our online purchasing facility, we aim to satisfy this demand by offering information to a user that is highly relevant to the research or development issues they are currently focussed on.’
MSI will continue to sell institutional subscription licenses to the MSIT Phase Diagrams Center databases.
