Toray to Supply Boeing with $2.9b Worth of Carbon Fibre

It was announced today that Toray Industries would supply Boeing with US$2.9 billion worth of carbon fibre over 17 years for use in their new 7E7 jetliner.

Under the supply agreement, Toray will be Boeing’s exclusive supplier of carbon fibre for the 7E7. The carbon fibre will be used in the wings and fuselage of the new aircraft, due for launch in 2008.
