US Steel Team with USA Luge Team to Build Faster Sled

US Steel have become the USA Luge Team’s official steel designer. As such they will work with the association to develop high-tech steels for use on the sleds.

Specifically, they will look at the sled runners which contact the ice and support its weight, making them a critical part of the sled.

US Steel will pool resources from their research centre in Monroeville, Pennsylvania and their automotive research centre in Troy, Michigan to work on the project.

Together they hope to build a sled with improved speed and handling that will help to carry the team to victory at the Winter Olympic Games in Turin, Italy in 2006.
