Goodfellow, a leading global supplier of metals and materials for research and product design, has announced the appointment of three distributors as part of the expansion of the Company’s sales and marketing activities in Japan.
The first, New Metals & Chemicals Corporation Limited, has offices in Tokyo and Osaka and is widely known throughout Japan as a specialty materials expert providing products and leading-edge technology to many of Japan’s leading companies. The second, Tokyo-based Furuuchi Chemical Corporation, is involved in R&D, manufacturing, and sales related to superconductor, semiconductor, thin film, fibre optic, and electronics applications. The third is Niki Glass Co. Ltd, also of Tokyo and Osaka, which supplies materials and equipment for a variety of research and industrial applications.
The appointment of these distributors further broadens Goodfellow’s presence in Japan specifically and the Far East in general. Working with Intralink, a firm specialising in helping science and technology companies access and develop the Japanese and Chinese markets, Goodfellow is in the process of significantly increasing its penetration of the region’s market for metals and materials for research, development, and specialised manufacturing applications.
This is the second major announcement in recent weeks that Goodfellow has made relative to their distribution network. On February 1, they announced the selection of Delta Scientific (www.delta-sci.com), an Ontario-based distributor of high-quality chemicals, consumables, and scientific equipment, as the exclusive distributor of Goodfellow products within Canada. The appointment of Delta Scientific represents an acceleration of Goodfellow’s sales and marketing activities in Canada and a strengthening of the Company’s presence in North America.
In addition to US and UK offices, Goodfellow has offices in France and Germany as well as the Shanghai Representative Office of Goodfellow Cambridge Ltd. (www.gutefu.cn) in China.
