The new generation FMP handheld range of coating thickness measurement instruments from Fischer Instrumentation (GB) Ltd offers a new approach to the coating thickness measurement world and the latest product releases follow the successful launch of the premium FMP100 handheld coating thickness gauge.
Introducing PC technology to an industrial instrument is a groundbreaking move by the Helmut Fischer Group as it means that intelligent non-destructive, high precision coating thickness measurement instruments can perform extensive functions while presenting a user- friendly face to the operator. Menu driven in a familiar way, with an efficient drag and drop function and a large, bright graphical display, the new generation top end of the FMP handheld range is able to perform the tasks of a traditional bench coating measurement system. Even dual mode entry models will measure, for example, paint on all metallic carrier materials, anodic coatings on aluminium, zinc on steel and copper on plastic carriers as they utilise both the magnetic induction and eddy current test methods.
USB data communication, direct data output with printer and versatile evaluation capabilities are further features adapted from PC technology, while measuring coatings over ferrous and non-ferrous substrates with automatic base material recognition are a feature of the dual coating thickness measurement instruments.
Fischer Instrumentation (GB) Ltd have the largest selection of innovative Smart probes in the market, offering greater measurement accuracy, a much expanded measurement range and ultimately, providing the broadest spectrum of solutions for coating thickness applications.
The series comprises 2 model types: the entry-level FMP10-20 with one application and the flexible and user definable premium class FMP30-40 with up to 100 applications.
Depending on application, documentation needed and the measuring method, users can select from the series the instrument that will best meet their measurement requirement. The new generation FMP10-40 is assembled at Fischer Instrumentation (GB) Ltd, Hampshire in the UK. The Helmut Fischer Group GmbH are leading specialists in the fields of coating thickness measurement, materials analysis and hardness testing.
