Arburg presented its extensive range of powder injection moulding (PIM) solutions to trade visitors at the PM Asia in the Everbright Convention Centre in Shanghai. As well as intensive technical discussions at the exhibition stand itself, the expert presentation by Uwe Haupt, who is responsible for PIM sales at Arburg, attracted a great deal of interest.
"Even though the PM Asia was mainly attended by Chinese trade visitors, we nonetheless succeeded in forging international links. Arburg took the opportunity to provide ample demonstration of its expertise and range of products in the field of powder injection moulding. On the first day of the exhibition in particular, we held a large number of in-depth technical discussions, which have given us grounds for optimism for the future," explained Zhao Tong, manager of the Arburg subsidiary in Shanghai, with satisfaction. He added that the Chinese PIM market was characterised by long-term constant growth rates. He also explained that one advantage for Arburg is its ability to offer companies complete product solutions, including a full range of services covering all aspects of the PIM process.
Expert PIM presentation
During the accompanying conference, Uwe Haupt also declared himself satisfied with the response to his expert presentation on the subject of "Injection moulding equipment requirements for micro PIM", which was well attended with an audience of about 20 people. He mainly answered questions relating to issues such as special adaptation measures for moulds, machines and automation. During the course of the presentation, the various features were explained in detail and backed up with extensive practical examples.
Extensive areas of application
A pioneer in powder injection moulding, Arburg still continues to develop new areas of application for this innovative process today. For this purpose, Arburg has an extremely well-equipped laboratory at its new Customer Center in Lossburg, Germany, with the relevant equipment for all powder injection moulding process steps: from material mixing and preparation, through injection moulding, debinding and sintering of the moulded parts. Special PIM training courses complete the comprehensive offering.
