The International Thermal Spray Conference & Exposition (ITSC 2009) event will go on next week as planned, May 4-7 in Las Vegas. "We look forward to welcoming our colleagues from throughout the world to ITSC," said Mitch Dorfman, Sulzer Metco (US), general co-chair for the event.
The International Thermal Spray Conference & Exposition (ITSC 2009) event will go on next week as planned. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has not limited travel to the U.S. and recommends sensible health precautions for those who will be traveling to the U.S.
"We look forward to welcoming our colleagues from throughout the world to ITSC," said Mitch Dorfman, Sulzer Metco (US), general co-chair for the event.
According to the CDC, swine influenza A (H1N1) should not discourage people from traveling to or within the United States. Travelers, like all citizens, should heed the advice of experts when determining how best to manage health concerns.
ITSC organizers will take precautions to protect public health, and encourage attendees to practice healthy habits, including frequent hand-washing. Information about the influenza situation is available from the US CDC and the World Health Organization. ITSC organizers continue to closely monitor the situation.
ITSC will be held May 4-7 at the Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel. The event is organized by ASM Thermal Spray Society (TSS), the German Welding Society (DVS) and the International Institute of Welding (IIW). TSS is an Affiliate Society of ASM International, the materials information society.
