“Dow Corning’s aim is to build a sustainable commercial position in the market for thermoplastics” said Jill Rykert, Dow Corning Corporation’s program leader for thermoplastics, while sharing the company’s best practices at an NPE2009 breakfast event hosted by SpecialChem, the world's largest online industry network for technical specifiers in the plastics industry.
NPE2009 is a comprehensive global event sponsored by SPI, a plastics trade association.
In her presentation titled ”Outside-In and Inside-Out: Proven Approaches to Increasing the Success of Your Innovation”, Jill commented on the challenges that Dow Corning faces in the thermoplastics market, and how understanding the voice of the customer (VOC) and enabling them to articulate their unmet needs is key to succeeding in this market. She spoke about the online, needs-based global survey that Dow Corning conducted with the help of SpecialChem and how the survey findings have enabled our way forward.
“We’ve had a long-standing relationship with SpecialChem,” said Jill. “Their capabilities enable us to establish a direct dialog with technical specifiers to gain perspectives on unmet need. It’s powerful to be able put that VOC in front of our technical team so that they can make the match between the technology we have and what the market needs.”
Jill Rykert’s presentation, along with the presentations of other industry professionals will be made available in a virtual event scheduled to take place September 22, 2009. To learn more or to register click here.
