"The ability to design, build and implement green technologies will be the key to sustainability and success for Dow Corning" said Peter Cartwright, Dow Corning's Executive Director for Environment, Health and Safety, at a recently held webinar titled "Accepting the Challenge: Is it Time to Embrace Sustainability as the New Operating System?".
The webinar was organized by The Conference Board as part of their KnowlEdge Series, a program which seeks to bring attention to critical business issues such as sustainability.
In his speech on "Achieving Growth Through Innovation for Sustainability", Peter pointed out that while Dow Corning came into existence because of innovation, the company has been making fundamental changes in how it manages innovation. Instead of looking at innovation merely in terms of products, Dow Corning applies it to its business models and processes.
Peter also spoke about the Business and Technology Incubator at Dow Corning, which is charged with building significant new businesses for the corporation - and is continuously identifying and pursuing new trends for which solutions are needed.
