Dow Corning has named Rainer Spielberg as Global Marketing Manager for its Solar Market Business Unit, which provides silicon-based solutions throughout the entire photovoltaic value chain and to the concentrated solar power (CSP) market He will be based at Dow Corning's site in Wiesbaden, Germany.
"We look forward to leveraging Rainer's leadership and expertise in the photovoltaics industry to deliver to our customers material solutions that improve performance, costs, availability and durability of finished solar modules and also in the CSP area" said Gaetan Borgers, Dow Corning global solar industry director.
Mr. Spielberg has more than a decade of sales and marketing leadership experience in multiple technology fields including photovoltaics. Most recently, he was the leader of solar sales and marketing at Qimonda AG, a semiconductor manufacturer in Munich, Germany. He has also held multiple management roles in the Communication group of Siemens Semiconductor.
As Global Marketing Manager, he will oversee a marketing team and lead the implementation of marketing strategies.
Mr. Spielberg has a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Fachhochschule Aachen University in Germany.
