Solvent Free Release Coating from Dow Corning

At Labelexpo Europe 2009, Dow Corning Corporation will introduce a new solvent-free release coating system and showcase its proven Syl-Off release coatings, including additions to the Syl-Off Advantage Series.

In Stand 6F140, Dow Corning will launch new Syl-Off solvent-free silicone release coating system for polyester substrates. The system provides long-term anchorage to unprimed and primed polyester films. It is specially designed for filmic pressure sensitive laminate/labelstock, single- and double-sided industrial polyester release films and for liners of polyester technical adhesive tapes.

The company will showcase its Advantage Series, an extensive line of ultralow-platinum, solventless release coating products. Today more than 80 coaters in 25 countries use the Advantage Series. Dow Corning's recent additions to the lineup require even lower platinum levels and offer the ability to use a wider range of substrates, giving customers many choices to meet their needs.

Globally available, the Advantage Series can help significantly lower costs by reducing platinum levels. The product line offers high line speeds, anti-misting, excellent anchorage, outstanding converting properties and better coverage, bath life and release stability.

Dow Corning will also feature its Syl-Off Advantage Emulsion Release Coating System. This cost-effective system provides low coat weight, low platinum levels and low temperature cure. It also gives customers application flexibility, high line speeds and flat release.

In addition, Dow Corning will highlight its Syl-Off thermal-cure release coatings specially designed for filmic substrates. These innovative coatings provide solutions for many different film types and grades, from temperature-sensitive substrates to unprimed polyester, with improved productivity at lower costs.
