HP Employ NextWindow Touch Screens in its New Range

NextWindow, the market and technology leader in optical touch screens for desktop PCs, monitors and large-format displays, announced that industry leading PC maker Hewlett-Packard is using NextWindow touch screens in its new TouchSmart 300, TouchSmart 600 and 9100 "all-in-one" desktop computers. The new computers, which launched publicly this week, are HP's third generation all-in-one PC. NextWindow touch screens also were used in the first two generation HP TouchSmart products.

NextWindow is at the forefront of a "touch PC" trend that is just beginning, though market research firm Gartner expects about 10% of new PC models by year-end 2009 will support touch screen technology. PC makers are choosing NextWindow because its touch screens are certified for use with Windows 7, the first operating system to support multi-touch functionality, and because NextWindow optical touch technology offers the lowest price and the best performance for touch screens 17" and above.

"I think it says a lot about how far NextWindow has come…three years after being chosen for the first TouchSmart computer, HP has the confidence to include us in their latest and greatest all-in-one PC," said Al Monro, CEO at NextWindow. "Suffice to say we have invested significant resources in the development of our relationship with HP and of course we look forward to helping HP bring new touch PCs to market for years to come."
