Helping the industry harness the continued growth of Trivex lens material, PPG Industries (NYSE:PPG) is featuring the accounts of optical professionals who are having success with the material as part of an enhanced Web site. These practitioners have reported use of Trivex material ranging from 20 to 99 percent of all jobs, and said they are seeing high customer satisfaction and business growth as a result.
“Many optical professionals are experiencing success with Trivex material. We’re excited to be able to feature their stories and to allow others access to these best practices,” said Nathan Troxell, marketing manager, optical materials, PPG Industries.
The “True Life Testimonials” page, located at www.PPGTrivex.com/testimonials, features the personal experiences of large and small optical practices and labs that recommend Trivex material. In their product reviews, professionals share specific selling tips and demonstrate how Trivex material is being used to help boost sales and strengthen customer loyalty.
“When our office manager got her glasses made with Trivex material – her first pair of glasses – they were so lightweight she forgot she had them on,” recounted Judy Gyton, lab manager, Gardner Optical, Franklin, Pa. “She got out of her car and accidentally dropped them. They ended up getting run over by a pickup truck. We kept them to show people – the frame was broken, but the lenses were still intact.”
Kim Neely, optician, IC Optics, Putnam, Conn., shared another perspective: “It is not uncommon for a patient coming out of polycarbonate and going into Trivex material to notice improved visual acuity. When combined with a quality lightweight frame, patient satisfaction has never been higher!”
Janice Jackman, O.D., Orange, Calif., said, “I was always a polycarbonate fan except for the problems with the chromatic aberration. Trivex material solved that. I like the fact that it’s thin, lightweight, impact resistant – so it’s safe – and offers UV protection, too.”
Testimonials can be submitted via e-mail to Troxell at [email protected]. Contact information – including a phone number and/or e-mail that can be used to obtain additional details – and a brief description of experience working with Trivex material should be provided.
In addition to the new testimonials page, the redesigned Web site provides access to the latest Trivex material point-of-sale materials, which can be downloaded or requested free of charge. The site also features links to research related to Trivex material and to industry associations and organizations that offer more information. To aid those who are interested in successfully processing lenses made from Trivex material, the relaunched Web site offers guidelines on drilling, finishing, surfacing and tinting, as well as a section on edging that includes instructional videos.
