TMK Awarded DNV Subsea Certification for Large Diameter Pipes

TMK, one of the world's leading producers of steel pipes for the oil and gas industry, announces today that its large-diameter pipe production was awarded the DNV subsea certification.

Volzhsky's longitudinal large-diameter production received the DNV-OS-F101 submarine pipeline systems certification in late December 2009. The OS-F101 certification allows TMK to participate in large-scale subsea pipeline projects. The installation of the longitudinal LD welded line, part of TMK's Strategic Investment Programme, was carried out to meet the subsea requirements for tubular products used in the construction of such large-scale offshore pipeline projects as the Nord Stream, South Stream, and Shtokman pipeline project.

While auditing the longitudinal mill, the DNV representatives highlighted Volzhsky's high-tech production facilities. The state-of-the-art equipment installed at the plant has allowed TMK to successfully certify its production to national and international industry standards as well as qualify with a wide range of customers.
