PSI has been awarded by the Austrian Teich AG with the delivery of the production management system PSImetals for expanding capacity of their new Foil Rolling Mill II in Weinburg. The goal of the project is to extend production capacity to meet the increased demand for flexible packaging. The Teich AG is already successfully using PSImetals for the planning and control of the production processes in Foil Rolling Mills I and II.
The two foil rolling mills at the Weinburg plant provide different kinds of foils for major customers and the company's group. In 2007, Rolling Mill II was integrated with a fully-automated transportation control technology to extend capacity. With the implementation of PSImetals the new rolling stand, the cut-off machines, raw band and finishing forges will be integrated. This will allow for a quick reaction to changes, adherence to delivery dates and greater transparency while simultaneously reducing stocks.
