The Henan Jiyuan Iron and Steel (Group) Co. Ltd. produces 600,000 tons of iron and steel every year. The main products include steel billets, pig iron, ferroalloy and steel tube. For its first imported rod mill, the company ordered a wire rod outlet from Siemens. The scope of supply includes a two-stand Vee pre-finishing mill, an eight-stand Vee No-Twist finishing mill and a four-stand Reducing/Sizing Mill. Supply will also include an intelligent pinch roll and laying head arrangement, a high speed shear arrangement before the No-Twist Mill, guides for all three mills, intermediate intelligent pinch roll, water boxes, Stelmor conveyor and reform station. The scope also includes several Morgan proprietary control systems.
Designed to produce up to 150 tons of wire rod per hour, the new rod outlet will provide the tolerances and quality required to produce alloy steels, spring steel and bearing steels. Annual production is expected to be 600,000 tons of 5 to 25 mm rods and 6 to 16 mm HRBF rebar. Siemens VAI will supervise the installation and commissioning of the rod outlet.
