VSG Release Version 6.2 of Avizo Visualization Analysis Software

Visualization Sciences Group (VSG) is pleased to announce the release of the 6.2 version of Avizo, the visualization and analysis software for scientists and engineers. Bringing many improvement both on performance and usability, Avizo 6.2 represents an essential step in VSG's continuous efforts to deliver even more powerful and easier-to-use 3D data analysis tools.

In version 6.2, new advanced tools have been added and significant improvements have been brought even to basic features. The ergonomics of the program have been considerably improved to make repetitive tasks easier to use, such as setting the position of a plane in 3D space. Improving performance has also been a very important goal for VSG developers. In this new version, particularly for the Wind and Fire editions, various calculation modules have been adapted to take advantage of multi-core systems.

A particular effort has been made to reduce the loading time of CFD files and the memory footprint of the application, allowing loading even larger files much faster than before. The quantification package also benefits from all enhancements made to the embedded Visilog package.

"Avizo 6.2 is a key release of the Avizo product family", says Pascal Doux, VSG Product Director. "The new Avizo 6.2 Wind Edition delivers cutting-edge tools for numerical simulation. The Avizo Fire edition benefits from essential enhancements in performance and quantification capabilities for complex materials analysis. Our customers will also definitively appreciate the long list of enhancements shared by all Avizo editions."
