Stork Materials Technology will be offering a free one-hour online seminar on U.S. export controls, specifically International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR), on Thursday, July 15 at 2:00 p.m. EST. ITAR is a set of United States government regulations that control export and temporary import of defense-related articles and services on United States Munitions List. EAR regulations are issued by United States Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry & Security (BIS) under laws relating to control of certain exports, re-exports, and activities.
The last in this series of webinars will be scheduled in August to follow up on questions from participants in earlier webinars and to include other critical information about export law as it relates specifically to suppliers of goods and services to defense and military industries.

Abstract
This webinar provides information on US export controls and how these controls affect Stork's ability to serve our customers, and why we ask for certain information to comply with these controls. Discussed will be the key elements of U.S. Export Controls, including the definition of an export. The webinar shall discuss what these requirements mean to Stork and its customers, noting that effective compliance is a team effort. Included are the elements of an effective export compliance program, the traits of a good export compliance officer, and the penalties for failing to comply with export compliance regulations.
This webinar will include time for Mr. Luoni to answer questions submitted by attendees during the presentation.
About the speaker
David Luoni is an analytical chemist by degree, and served as Chief Chemist for a specialty steel company for 12 years, was with PRI as Senior Staff Engineer administering the Nadcap Materials Testing program for 14 years, and is currently the Director of Quality for Stork Materials Technology's U.S. operations. He also serves as the Vice President, Trade Compliance for SMT USA Holding Inc., which is the DDTC-registered entity for all Stork US facilities, and is responsible for all aspects of the Stork U.S. export compliance program.
