Specialty Polymer Provider PolyOne Establishes New Company in South Korea

PolyOne Corporation (NYSE: POL), a premier provider of specialized polymer materials, services and solutions, today announced the extension of its global footprint with the formation of PolyOne Korea Ltd.

The new company established a business development office in Seoul, South Korea and named Mr. Tim Choi managing director. He will focus on gaining specifications with South Korean original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and importing PolyOne's specialty compounds for use by South Korean polymer processors.

"Our expanded presence in South Korea mirrors the growth of consumer product design and manufacturing companies, as well as polymer processors, in the Asia-Pacific region," said Dr. Willie Chien, president of Asia. "By adding a resource that understands the local culture, knows the industry and is versed in PolyOne's solutions, our customers in South Korea will now experience improved service and access to our diversified portfolio of innovative technology and services."

Kurt Schuering, vice president, key account management, will oversee the market development operations of PolyOne Korea Ltd. "PolyOne will deliver unparalleled value to our South Korean customers by coupling innovation, with technical expertise and global reach," Schuering said. "Customers in South Korea's key industries, such as electronics and automotive, will have direct access to our problem-solving and process-improvement resources, as well as our full line of specialty polymers."

PolyOne now has 14 sales offices, manufacturing facilities and laboratories throughout the Asia-Pacific region, including in China, Japan, India, Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
