SECO WARWICK Commissions Walking Hearth Furnace for Stainless Steel Billets

SECO WARWICK Allied recently commissioned a walking hearth furnace at Chandan Steel Ltd. The furnace is used for heating stainless billets for hot piercing.

The furnace is equipped with multi-zone automatic temperature control to get temperature control of +- 3 degree centigrade. The entire temperature control and logic operation of the material handling system is done by a Eurotherm programmable logic controller of . In the past, Seco Warwick Allied has supplied several similar type furnaces in India for hot piercing application.

This is the second similar type furnace commissioned by the company this year.

The furnace is equipped with a preheat section to recover heat from the outgoing flue gas. Temperature of each controlled zone is set at desired temperatures to get uniform heating and desired soaking.
