RPC Containers Halstead has strengthened its long-term supply relationship with the Orkla Group, manufacturer of one of Europe’s leading ketchup brands, Felix, with the production of a 43.2 mm flip-top cap used by two Orkla sites in Austria and Romania. In addition, due to heavy demand, a new B52 cap tool has also been commissioned.
RPC Halstead has been producing injection moulded closures for Orkla for a number of years. With the new cap and increased capacity, the company is now supplying seven Orkla sites across Europe.
RPC Halstead utilised its core skills in cap manufacturing in order to meet the Orkla Group requirements, which included an induction heat-seal foil, hot filling and compatibility with its existing bottle design. Owing to the large volumes required, RPC Halstead has established a dedicated production cell for the 43.2 mm closure.
In parallel, growing demand across the Orkla Group for the B52 closure has resulted in a second tool being established. The cap is used in conjunction with a range of RPC Corby high barrier bottles.
"Both of these deals highlight the value of reliable supply and high performance packaging, and we continue to be delighted with RPC Halstead’s ability to provide quality closure solutions at the large volumes required by Orkla sites Europe-wide,” confirms Per Lindstrom of Orkla Group.
