Dow Corning today announced the expansion of its Dow Corning® brand Clean Surface Coating line to include Dow Corning® 2634P, available in a solvent free pellet form for application by physical vapor deposition (PVD).
Routinely touched surfaces are commonly stained with hard to remove fingerprints, skin oil, sweat, dirt and cosmetics. Dow Corning® brand Clean Surface Coatings are suitable for many substrates, including glass, plastic, metals and films and are designed to reduce fingerprint and dirt adherence while providing long-term, easy-to-clean performance and excellent durability for demanding high-touch surface applications like handheld electronic devices and portable computer screens.
Features of the 2634 coatings product line include:
- Clear, low-viscosity solution
- No impact on substrate appearance
- Covalently bonds to glass, plastic and metal oxide surfaces
- Drying to a thin, transparent film
Benefits include:
- Durable reduced stain properties
- Easy-to-clean behavior
- Excellent coating durability
- Excellent display capability
“The challenge has been to create a surface that stays clean and smooth over a long period of time,” said Michihiro Tatsuoka, Global Market Manager, Dow Corning Electronics. “A major advancement of Dow Corning’s solution is resistance to wear by rubbing, allowing surfaces to stay cleaner for a longer period of time. The addition of the new 2634P coating allows thin layer deposition, increasing potential for high yield rates and good throughput.”
