Everlast polymeric siding was developed by Norandex building products, one of the largest US distributors of building products, over the course of several years, and has been distributed and installed in other markets in the South and Mid West.
Up until this year, Everlast siding was not available in New England. However Norandex building supply and Massachusetts siding contractor Everlast Siding of New England recently partnered to launch the product in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Southern New Hampshire. Based on the exceptionally positive early response from homeowners, Norandex believes that Everlast will make a strong run to become the most sought after siding product in the New England market. The first Everlast siding installation was on a residence in Natick Massachusetts.
The Natick project included the removal of dated vinyl siding. The customer’s first option was to re-side with vinyl siding. The homeowner Trevor Smith says, “The features or Everlast over vinyl are basically endless: it’s unbelievably more durable, and looks a lot more like real wood. The transferable performance and fade warranties are also a big plus.”
Mr. Smith also noted that he considered installing fiber cement siding. Ultimately he chose Everlast. “I would say never having to paint the product is one of the best highlights with Everlast. I also really liked how thick it is and it’s resemblance to a natural wood grain. Most people look at our new siding and assume we had real wood clapboard installed. There are a number of things I liked about Everlast over the fiber cement products. First is that the clapboards interlock at each lap providing a better continuity of product. I also like that the non-factory cut edges don't have to be sealed, as there were issues with fiber cement products delaminating. Also, Everlast will never require paint like fiber cement does.
